In the aftermath of a sexual assault, it is normal for survivors and those that support them to find it hard to define their experience or put their thoughts and feelings into words. It may be difficult to make decisions around how to move forward or begin the healing process. Navigating the responses of the health care system, legal system, justice system, in addition to family and community systems can be overwhelming for both survivors and their allies.
