Firschein, Warren: - After growing up in New Jersey, Warren Firschein graduated from the University of Rochester in 1989 with a degree in political science, followed by a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He is the author of two previous middle-grade novels, The Pirate of Janaconda Island (Chapter Two Press, 2017) and Out of Synch (Chapter Two Press, 2015), considered the all-time best-selling middle grade novel about the sport of synchronized swimming. In addition, he is the coauthor (with Laura Kepner) of A Brief History of Safety Harbor, Florida (History Press, 2013). More recently, he is the cofounder and managing editor of Odet, a Florida-based literary journal. When not writing, he is an attorney for the Federal Communications Commission.
