The Cat's on My Lap

When Grandpa brings home a kitten, a busy family feels that their lives have gotten even harder. But as the kitten grows into a cat, they learn a valuable lesson. A charming and endearing story for everyone who loves cats - and loves people. This book has been much loved by a wide range of ages and has universal appeal. The language has been carefully crafted for its harmonic quality when used as a read aloud book and, because of the three-generation family portrayed, it is intended to stimulate discussion for all members of the family. It has not yet been nominated for the prestigious Caldecott Award. The Randolph Caldecott Medal, frequently shortened to just the Caldecott, annually recognizes the preceding year's "most distinguished American picture book for children". It is awarded to the illustrator by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association.
