The Distance Home

They were closer than sisters.

Emma and Jillian. The two were inseparable, at home, at school, and most of all, in the stables of Jumping Frog Farm. They called themselves Horse & Heart Sisters.

Until what brought them together drove them apart.

But not even a bond forged from a mutual need for acceptance and love of horses could withstand teen jealousy. Then painful accusations and a tragic accident led to a messy cover-up that tore apart friendships and families.

Now, the only thing that can heal Emma is returning to the place where it all went wrong.

When Emma's father dies unexpectedly, she's forced to return to the town she left in disgrace and the people, and horses, she was ripped away from. But sixteen years of loss, guilt, and heartbreak are a heavy burden to carry. Forgiveness isn't something Emma dreamed of deserving, but from the back of a horse, she can see more than just the friendship she lost and the betrayal she suffered. She can see a way to start again, to learn to trust, and just maybe, find her way home again.

Orly Konig's The Distance Home is a powerful and sparkling debut novel of second chances, friendship, and healing.
