This is a modern translation of The Federalist Papers printed side by side with the original texts of seven of the most frequently cited of the Federalist Papers. This presentation allows for reading either or both versions and provides the opportunity to compare the original to the modern language translation. Covered in these essays are topics such as the need to protect the government from the grasp of powerful interest groups, the need for a forceful presidency, an independent court system, the balance of powers between Congress and the President, and between the Federal government and the State governments.
