The Grapes of Wrath is a profound and emotional work about poverty, suffering, and the struggle for survival during the Great Depression in the United States. The story of the Joad family, who set out in search of a better life in California, is a portrait of hardship, but also of hope and human solidarity. Steinbeck’s narrative style, rich in description and full of empathy, creates a tense and painful atmosphere. The novel is a lesson on social injustice and the collective power of the oppressed.
