Atkinson, Desmond: - DES ATKINSON spent his career in the IT industry before studying for an MPhil in Medieval History from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate from the University of Exeter. His research focuses on the prelates of the late medieval English Church, in particular Dr John Morton, cardinal archbishop and chancellor to Henry VII. He supervised the publication of John Norden's 17th-century survey of Devon manors for the Friends of Devon Archives and is now working for the Victoria County History of Somerset. He is also completing a database of 15th-century ordination records for the Salisbury diocese.
