The Prodigal Son

"In choosing men and women for His service, God does not ask whether they possess worldly wealth, learning, or eloquence. He asks, "Do they walk in such humility that I can teach them My way? Can I put My words into their lips? Will they represent Me?" God can use every person just in proportion as He can put His Spirit into the soul temple. The work that He will accept is the work that reflects His image. His followers are to bear, as their credentials to the world, the ineffaceable characteristics of His immortal principles."

Ellen G. White, God's Amazing Grace, p. 267

A friendly but lonely country boy, Eric was quite young when he decided he would be an artist. Yet in high school, a problem loomed: how would he pursue his passion when the options before him were so restrictive? The only solution Eric could see was to leave behind his Adventist upbringing, move to the city, and finally spread his wings. But more than mere opportunity awaited him, and the past was not so easily left behind ....

Settle down with Eric, stride into the street, and take up a challenging course schedule in the school of life. In this illustrated narrative of an artist's coming of age you will encounter the sights, sounds, and smells of Third Street, colliding with inspiration and danger around every lamplit corner.

Weave your way through a tumultuous crowd of students and streetwalkers; instructors and pastors; restaurateurs and army vets and crime heavies. In the grimy glow of a city seemingly lost to decadence, witness as Eric and his loved ones struggle to compose lives from a palette of yearning, sadness, temptation, and the irresistible love of Jesus. And marvel at the restorative brushstrokes of an Artist who never forgets His children.
