The Son of a Pastor

Hazel and August were childhood friends until one day August's mom got caught cheating with Hazel's dad. The scandal was the talk of the town for weeks and Hazel's mom couldn't stand the embarrassment. She snatched Hazel out of school and left town, not daring to look back.

August couldn't believe the shame his mother caused not only his family, but the church as well. His dad, John, is Springville's Pastor but the scandal caused the people to lose their faith. Now years later, still re-establishing trust in the community, his dad takes it a step further requesting a marriage between the two families as a sign of faith. But August hasn't seen Hazel since they were teenagers, and he's not sure she'll enjoy his new taste in fun.
