Milner, Murray: - Murray Milner Jr. is professor emeritus of sociology and senior fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia. Author of six books, he holds a PhD in sociology from Columbia University and an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary. A recipient of two Fulbright Fellowships, he has been a visiting scholar or lecturer at University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, Patna University, and Delhi School of Economics. His book Status and Sacredness received the American Sociological Association's Distinguished Publication Award.
