After moving to Texas with her family, happy-go-lucky Ginger Honeysuckle started the first grade at a new school. Unfortunately, she encountered problems with her fellow classmates on her very first day. When asked to introduce herself, she was ridiculed for "talking proper"! Ginger didn't even know what it meant to "talk proper"!

After days of mistreatment from her classmates simply because of the way she spoke, Ginger talked to her mama about her problem.
