Russell Marble, Annie: - A pioneer of the transcendental movement and a well acclaimed novelist in America, Annie Russell Marble primarily wrote about early American historical personalities. She also provided analysis on literature generally. She was Isaiah Dunster Russell's child. In 1882, she graduated from Worcester High School and went on to earn an MA at Smith College. In addition to the publications listed below, she also wrote numerous essays on early American history and literature and published a number of calendars and almanacks with a literary theme. This was preceded by a few magazine articles. She served as the Worcester Sunday Telegram's literary editor and book critic from 1920 to 1929.
