Dr Luis Mispireta: - Luis A. Mispireta practiced Cardiac Surgery in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, becoming Chief of Cardiac Surgery at the Washington Hospital Center (D.C.) and Union Memorial Hospital (Baltimore). He practiced for 30 years, then retired from surgery with a desire to pay back to the cities that had been so good to him. He established halfway homes for recovering individuals from addictions to alcohol or drugs. Currently, they provide about 180 beds for this purpose. Then, with time in his hands, he turned to his liking for cooking, producing his second cookbook, Cooking By Methods.
