Francisco Tenório Cerqueira Júnior nació en Río de Janeiro y fue uno de los pianistas más reconocidos del movimiento samba-jazz. Solía tocar en Copacabana, cuna de la mejor música brasilera, y formó parte de Os Cobras, una banda instrumental de gran prestigio.
