Bower, Val: - Val Bower wants you all to know she is no different than you are. She was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. She was the middle child, having two older brothers, a younger sister, and a little brother. She has been so lucky that they have all been close to each other. She has been able to learn that having family and friends in your time of need is a wonderful gift.She has three biological children, two adopted children, three children she has custody of who she has raised as her own. She has four stepchildren. She has spent the majority of her adult life taking care of people who have needed her. Usually, a little bit of stress has been a good motivator for her.When Val heard the word cancer and the doctor talking about her son, her mind did not want to accept the news. When she heard them tell her, her son only had a few weeks to live, she wanted to run away and not be found. But she knew he needed her, and she would not leave his side.Her deepest wish is that after reading this book, moms and dads that you will hold your babies more often. Sisters and brothers will say "I love you" and mean it.She wishes for families to realize that tomorrow may not come. Every day should have a memory to hang on to. Not all cancer is fatal, but it is always serious. Hermother, nephew, son, and daughter have all had to deal with cancer in some form.God will heal you here on Earth, or you will be healed in heaven. Either way, she believes God is in control.
