Steve has experienced the impact of addiction his entire life (over 50 years). His parents were alcoholics, and he has brothers and a sister who suffered from alcoholism and addiction. Steve also helped foster parent three children who had been abused on multiple levels and helped them recover from this abuse over a four-and-a-half-year period. He has attended hundreds of AA (Alcohol Anonymous), NA (Narcotics Anonymous), Adult Children of Alcoholics meetings, and church-based recovery programs. He has done extensive research on the causes of substance abuse (addiction) and the recovery process.
