Half Love, Metade Amor

A bilingual poetry book in English and Portuguese that is also a portal that divides two worlds: the U.S. and Brazil, leaving brain and heart halved: half English, half Portuguese, half love, half life. But it's also an opportunity to live life fully, in double. Expectations of what was thought of as bad-planned adventures are kept safe. Dreams, love stories gone wrong, and pondering about life and death fill up words that try to flip the narrative creating a third language that tries to accommodate this new place.

Inside its pages, you'll find a decade of an immigrant broken down into six chapters that talk about life, love, loss, and morals. Each chapter alternates between poems written in Portuguese translated to English, and poems written in English translated to Portuguese. They take readers through a journey where the author survives a "voluntary exile" leaving the doors of new possibilities open. And hope is always good news, right?
