Murphy, Erin M. Mariah: - Erin Mariah Murphy is the author of Halfway Home, an airline pilot, and animal advocate. Literary seeds were planted when Erin adopted her first rescue pup, Zeke, and volunteered with animal air-rescue services whereby at-risk animals are efficiently moved from overcrowded shelters to shelters with more resources by air transports. Erin has been flying airplanes since she was fourteen years old. It was not until she was established at a legacy major airline that she volunteered with her local SPCA. So, it wasn't until midlife that she saw the magnitude and frequency at which at-risk animals were rescued through air transports to safe havens. Inspired and head over heels in love with her first adopted rescue pup, Zeke, she enrolled in picture book writing courses. She hopes Halfway Home inspires the next generation of pet advocates, aviation lovers, and foster/adoptive families.
