When a well-meaning Salvation Army captain asks Daisy to teach German immigrant women the fine art of American cookery, Daisy, who is barely on speaking terms with her own kitchen, is ready to laugh him right out the door. But before she can refuse, her sense of duty (and mild curiosity) gets the better of her.

Armed with a cookbook, an apron, and a healthy dose of skepticism, Daisy steps into the classroom-only for one of her students to mysteriously vanish.
