When his village is massacred by a monstrous breed of bear, the last surviving ninja knows he cannot seek vengeance alone. With his orphaned pupil at his side, he journeys across the ocean to gold-fevered California for a cursed hunter whispered about in old frontier tales and darker prayers.

But the deeper they walk into darkness, the more the orphan's true fate unfolds-- an unwinnable game carved into the bones of the earth itself.

The rules are brutally simple.
Hunter beats Bear. Ninja beats Hunter. Bear beats Ninja.

And no one escapes this triangle of death.
