Who knows what the rain will bring?

After days of blinding rain, a white tree emerges with everybody's names on it. One above and the other below, tying two together. Nova is determined to be the first to reach the top. She discovers that the rain brought more than just tying people to one another; things that were once gone have now returned. And her family wants it all for themselves.

1925-

Atop the tree, in the city of Rueb, the children are pawns in the twisted games of the Duchess and Charles Van Kronos. When the children finally escape, they're separated, renamed, and try to lead a normal life. But one of them kills the Duchess, and when Charles is unexpectedly released, he vows to find his children and kill them all.

Edgar hides a diamond in one of the rooms of the Hotel Tremond.

He has secrets of his own, and his family scrambles to find the diamond before they have nothing left. Nia and a mysterious hotel guest are among the many searching for it. She seeks the help of Blue, also known as the Phantom of Rueb.

The Owl, an assassin, keeps the world at peace, even if it means killing the innocent tied to his targets. Meanwhile, a sadistic hunter named Occam hunts people for the wealthy, who cannot stand whoever they are tied to affecting their lives in any way
