It's Because They Were Black - 100 Years of Fraud and Forgery

De (autor): Syl Johnson

The past can predict the future, but without true acknowledgement of its impact, it can also repeat itself.

Syl Johnson shares his tumultuous journey of reclaiming his ancestors' land and fighting for his own music rights. His story offers a lively depiction of the underhanded motives of others and the long-lasting impact upon the wealth of subsequent generations.

He asks the hard questions including: How do we reclaim wealth that has been stolen? This call to action begins with a dynamic story presenting documented proof of collusion and deceitful behavior by bad actors in government and the community.

The book shines a light on the ills of the past, bringing awareness to generational wealth lost over the years, but this story is not unique to Syl Johnson's family.

It's time we face facts and demand justice.

About the Author: Syl Johnson is a Grammy-nominated blues and soul singer/songwriter who for decades has captured audiences with his soulful voice. Coming from a family of musicians and singers, he quickly found his passion in music. With roots in Chicago from the 1950s, the performer played alongside such notable blues artists as Junior Wells and Howlin' Wolf. His hits include "Different Strokes," "Take Me to the River," "Is It Because I'm Black" and "Come on Sock It to Me." His influence is still felt in music today and his personal story of triumph in the music industry and the fight for getting the respect and credit he worked for continues to inspire many. That same fight is seen in his creation of a foundation for the reclamation of stolen land. Learn more about the foundation by writing to 3473 S. Martin Luther King Drive, Suite 506, Chicago, IL 60616.
