Eight-year-old Ladybug is a Saltwater Ponygirl on Chincoteague Island, who has always dreamed of her own pony. This summer, Ladybug will get her chance! Pony Penning has arrived, and the wild foals are whinnying ready for Pony Auction morning!
And these foals aren't just any wild foals - they're descendants of Spanish Ponies from the Spanish Galleon Ship, originally destined for Peru, but instead was shipwrecked by a Nor'easter storm, over 300 years ago. This shipwreck sent the cargo hold of ponies swimming ashore the beach of Assateague Island.
Ladybug knows in her heart that there is a forever pony for every girl and boy, just like there is a girl or boy for every pony, who are meant to be best friends for always and always.
