Sheku Kanneh-Mason rose to prominence after winning the 2016 BBC Young Musician competition, becoming the first Black musician to win the award since it began in 1978. He became known worldwide after performing at the 2018 wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a broadcast watched by billions. Sheku records exclusively for Decca Classics and maintains a busy international concert schedule, with performances at Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the BBC Proms. He was awarded an MBE in the Queen's 2020 New Year's Honors for his contributions to music.
