May All of You and God Forgive Me

Broder, Hans, Jr.: - Hans Melchior Broder, Jr. was born July 6, 1947, in Bern, Switzerland and immigrated with parents and siblings to Stockbridge, Georgia in 1951. He has dual citizenship and speaks Swiss and German. He was raised on the family's dairy farm, where he presently lives and is the oldest of eight siblings. Married to Lyndy Lynberg, they have four children and ten grandchildren. He received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and began his working career as a Business Education teacher at Stockbridge High School in 1969, where he taught Typing I and General Business courses. In 1971 he accepted a lending position with The First State Bank and became its CEO in 1975. He was the Organizer and CEO of Enterprise Banking Company until 2011. With a partner he developed and a managed Rum Creek Golf, a driving range and a nine-hole, par-three golf course. He is a past Chairman of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce and served on several bank, civic organization and church boards, including the Henry Medical Center, Henry Medical Center Foundation, The William R. and Sara Babb Smith Foundation, Camp Fortson and St Philip Benizi Catholic Church.He is the author of This Too Shall Pass, a book about the failure of community banks during the Great Recession, and the causes and consequences. Motivated by the closing of Enterprise Banking Company in 2011, he takes the reader from his bank's creation to its takeover by the F.D.I.C. The book provides insights and details of the challenges faced by community bankers during that period.Hans Broder has spent most of his life in Stockbridge, attended the local schools and worked in the community. Many of his neighbors, classmates and bank customers contributed to the events that occurred during the brief period of Henry County. It is these relationships that inspired him to write the book, May All of You and God Forgive Me.
