Birk, Sharon: - Sharon Birk works with children who are autistic and has seen firsthand how understanding and compassion can help create a more inclusive environment. She knows how autistic children, who often have a hard time communicating and might play alone, sometimes just need a little help to find the right words and join in.

After noticing a need for more books about autism and autistic children, she decided to write Milo the Autistic Bear to help children and adults understand autism better as well as encourage kindness and acceptance of each other's differences.

Sharon lives in Richmond, BC, with her husband and is excitedly expecting a little baby soon. In her free time, she enjoys going for walks, reading, and painting.
