Price, Ginger M.: - Ginger Price is a stay-at-home mom who resonates with women from all walks of life who have survived gender- or religious-based violence and rape. For forty years, she believed the only education she needed was from the patriarchal pulpit of her 200-year-old ancestral religion. When her buried trauma came back to the surface after suppressing it for sixteen years, she was forced to confront the lasting effects of rape and abuse. Part of her healing started when she decided to write letters to her rapist. It is through these writings that she was able to discover her voice and her power that led to radical self-love.With the unexpected dissolution of her Mormon faith, Ginger began pursuing an education and the dream of a career outside the home. She recently achieved an Associate of Arts degree through the University of Alaska and is now working toward a Bachelor of Communication, with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She feels most fulfilled when she meets other survivors who have turned their trauma into advocacy and champion the safety of women and children.Toda, y she lives and writes from an Alaskan home tucked in snow-covered birch, spruce, and cottonwood trees. Her family includes four beautiful children, a twelve-pound Maltipoo, and a handsome, loving husband who has been supportive and encouraging of her recovery. She is working on a second manuscript in the same letter format as My Dear Rapist that highlights her journey through the legal system, the two-hour secret recorded phone call with her rapist, the quest for healing, and details on how Ginger was able to finally forgive her abuser.
