The Schofield & Sims reading record books boost children's pride in their reading skills and help schools to ensure effective home-school communication. They all contain reading vocabulary checklists and structured fill in pages asking parents to note specific points concerning the child's reading at home. Other pages are completed by the teacher and give parents information specific to the child. My reading record for Key Stage 2 contains a special introduction for children, explaining how the book may be used and encouraging children to enjoy and celebrate their progress in reading. With the guidance of a parent or helper, some parts of the book may be completed by the children themselves. General notes explain the importance of reading at home, briefly explain the book banding system and outline the priorities for children's reading at Key Stage 2.
