Nursing pharmacology mnemonics uses a memory device, or mnemonic, as a learning aid. Mnemonics are used with various aspects of nursing, such as drug administration and patient assessment. Nurses use them to help themselves remember information from their studies much faster and more accurately.

According to the American Nurses Association, nurses need to know not just how the drugs work, but how they affect the patient's body. They should also know which patients are at higher risk for certain side effects. Additionally, nurses need to know how to read and interpret patient reports. This is called the Clinical Evaluation Process (CAP).
