Stackhouse, Jr. argues that Christianity played a significant role in the creation of the American republic. While acknowledging that the revolution birthed a nation with a secular Constitution and therefore a secular government, Stackhouse also presents evidence that Christian thought, preaching, and practice helped to create and sustain colonial resistance to British policies and lead to the founding of the United States of America.
