Roxy Sayah comes from a long lineage of writers and poets. She migrated from Iran as a young teen, carrying with her a profound love for storytelling and creativity. As a mother, daughter, educator, and business owner, Roxy often felt the weight of her responsibilities--a theme reflected in her book: Rox in the Box. She discovered that creativity and imagination are powerful tools for transformation and freedom. Through poetry and writing, Roxy realized that true freedom isn't about escaping physical confines but embracing the ability to dream and create.
Roxy has a doctorate in education and lives in California, USA, with her two beloved cats, Leo and Foozool. She is the proud mother of two adult sons and enjoys cooking, hiking, and finding new ways to tell stories that inspire and uplift.
With her years of experience working in K-12 eduction, Katie is thrilled to illustrate children's book, bringing character and their experiences to life through art. The story of Rox particularly resonated with Katie, who even encouraged her five-year-old daughter to contribute to the character's earliest sketches. Katie lives in the Los Angeles are with her husband (who she met in high school art class no less), her daughter and their corgi namer Bebop (cowboy that is). When she's not doodling or lost in the pages of a book, Katie can be found exploring hiking trails and national parks.
