In 2009 I hit my "rock Bottom" When I had to have surgery on my hip as a result of the way I had been treating my body. I realized I had been abusing food my whole life. I had an addictive relationship with sugar, I was overeating, and I wasn't treating food or my body with the respect they both deserve. Once I fully realized what I had been doing, I was determined to feel better and rid my body of unnecessary inflammation, bloating, weight, and brain fog. I wanted to feel happy and free in my body and I did not want to feel deprived. I became inspired and unstoppable. This became a purpose-driven spiritual journey for me as I opened The Source Cafe in 2012 and started my true work in the world. I want to make a paradigm shift in our world through food, and I feel I get to work towards that goal every day at my restaurants and with this book.
