When was the last time you shared information about yourself or a loved one online? That cute photo of you and your family on vacation? Share. The photo of your dog chasing its tail in front of your house? Share. That photo of your new car (and your license plate)? Share.

We share all the time. And we don't give it a second thought. It's commonplace to share personal information online, which then becomes available to complete strangers.

Would you voluntarily want the person in front of you at the coffee shop to see a photo of your child's report card? Probably not. But they just did. Because we share everything.

The truth is, once our information is online, it is very hard to control who has access to it, and it is near to impossible to remove.
