He enlisted on March 12, 1992, completing Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he specialized in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Small Engine Repair. Throughout his distinguished military career, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas (9 years), Ansbach, Germany (3 years), Fort Carson, Colorado (3 years), Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland (2 years), and Hawaii (5 years). His service included deployments to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.Rising through the ranks, Thomas served in multiple leadership roles, including Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Battalion Motor Sergeant, Instructor Writer, Special Operations Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Maintenance Control Sergeant, Sexual Harassment/ Assault Response and Prevention Victim Advocate, and First Sergeant. His commitment to excellence earned him numerous awards and commendations throughout his career. After honorably retiring on April 1, 2018, Thomas transitioned into advocacy, focusing on helping others navigate personal struggles and mental health challenges.Today, Thomas shares his personal journey of resilience and faith, offering hope to those facing emotional and psychological battles. Through his writing and mentorship, he continues to serve, inspiring others to reclaim their peace and purpose.
