Some Superheroes Wear Capes and I Wear Headphones - Emily J. Dykstra

Some Superheroes Wear Capes and I Wear Headphones

Some Superheroes Wear Capes and I Wear HeadphonesA story for children with autism, told through the eyes of an autistic child

Sometimes we want to be just like everyone else until we discover that our strength lies within.

Clara is a third grader who is on a desperate search for her superhero cape. Everyone in her town has one-except her. Join her on her journey to discover her inner superpower.

A heartwarming story that teaches kids from age 2 to 99 about acceptance; each of us is dealing with something and sometimes our struggles don't show up on the outside for all to see. This story highlights sensory needs that some people deal with as well as teaches the reader that we all have special skills by just being ourselves.

Helping children to feel comfortable and confident and siblings, friends and classmates relate to their sensory differences.
