Just as the dust and chaos of a few months past begins to settle, a new problem ignites from the ashes: one of the Spirits of the Calendar suddenly disappears - Pumpkin, the Spirit of Halloween. On top of that investigation, Thanatos is pushed to reveal a careless love affair - and a son. Now that the Infidelity Treaty is void, the child will be spared - though he still raises concerns in regards to his fluctuating abilities. As the goddess of half-bloods, Savannah must deliver the child to Purgatory for the mundane world's own safety. Which may be easier said than done, due to a band of protective Grim Reapers.

The most pressing matter though, is the Mark on the son of Death's right hand - one which binds him to an inescapable fate...and threatens reality itself.
