I wrote this The Beauty Behind My Darkness to remind you that even through all the darkness and imperfections you are worthy of happiness and true love. I broke this collection down into three sections with each one digging deep into a different part of my past, until the book reaches to where i am now. No one finds love or happiness over night, but the more your travel the closer you get.

Section I explores the themes of failed relationships and the mixed emotions that comes with them such as jealousy, confusion, ego, and fear. It took a lot to put my flaws and mistakes on full display. These poems tell a story of my mindset during my early twenties. I was not always the hero, nor was I always the victim. I've never been the type of male poet to pretend I was a knight in shining armor to sell more books; that's not me. I am a lover who has made poor choices. I write about them so readers can see any possible red flags in future dating prospects or even use these poems to help prevent them from making the same mistakes I made.

Section II is about the road to self-discovery we embark on after heartbreak and after realizing it's time to heal from the trauma we suffered from childhood and as young adults.

Section III is all about the healthy love we discover after going through the ups and downs of life. This section is my most personal and experimental. I share intimate details of the love I have found with Moonsoulchild from the time we met to before our wedding day. I've also experimented with different forms of poems like Sonku and Tanka. Which was very fun. I share my story, hoping it will inspire millions of hopeful romantics to never give up on finding their person because they are out there.
