Lydia Edwards was born an 80s baby in a small town on the outskirts of poverty. From the seat of a banana bike, she struggles through her daddy issues while feeding bologna to a mangy stray, learning to smoke behind the high school bleachers, and explaining away the behaviors of those around her.

As an adult, she now has the duty of caring for her aging mother while tracking down the truth about what happened the night she lost her father. Peeling away at wallpaper and choking on dirt tacos, her mother begins to display unsettling signs of behavior that would soon be identified as Alzheimer's disease.

A new love interest becomes a distraction as she prepares her heart for another loss. Still, nothing could have prepared her for what she would discover at the site of her greatest pain.
