Veronica Sterling is a dedicated botanist working in a natural history museum as an assistant collections manager. A reserved postdoc fellow, Artie Ribeiro, joins the museum in the anthropology division, botany's unsaid rival. The division of anthropology is the department that gets all the funding since they have the largest and flashiest artifacts. Botany's collection is full of dried plants on paper, stuffed in drawers, but Veronica loves it nonetheless.

By day, Danielle works on scientific conferences and has previously worked at a science center and natural history museum. Inspired by her time at the museum, by night, she writes romance novels set in her favorite city.
