The King's Hats - Sheila May Bird

The King's Hats

De (autor): Sheila May Bird

A picture book about the reign of King Charles III, publishing at the time of his coronation.

"The sight of the famously stiff new monarch cavorting wildly with children at a party and gamboling about the garden, kilt flapping in the breeze may push an incredulous chortle past the stiffest upper lip....A doff of the cap to the septuagenarian new monarch, more affectionate than satirical."--Kirkus Reviews

The King put on his heavy crown. It felt so hot and tight.

His dear Mama had worn it well, on her it looked just right.

His wife said, "Do not worry, dear, I know your job is new,

but go and find your Happy Place, and work out what to do.

Charles is now the King, but he is finding his new crown a little heavy to wear. Luckily his good friend Tom the gardener is there to show him that a king doesn't only wear a crown. He must wear all sorts of hats in his new job.

But will King Charles find his Happy Place where he can be brave enough to be the king he was born to be?
