It turns out that Thomas Houghton, the Duke of Radcliffe, has a big secret, and the only one he could trust to help him is Brazilian journalist Stefania DiMaggio. In assisting Thomas, Stefania unwittingly thrusts herself into the cross-hairs of assassins and a nefarious international scheme involving her arch nemesis Svetlana Greschenko of the Russian SVR.

Stefania finally finds the love that has eluded her for so long, but even that is fleeting. A mysterious sheikh appears and offers vague clues, but what do they mean?
