Adrian Lobley captained/managed his first tennis team at the age of 16 when he ran Bardsey Tennis Club's junior mixed team and then followed that by running the club's senior mixed team a year later which he is still running 25 years on. During his time in charge of the senior team it won promotion from Division 4 to Division 1, won two Division 1 titles and two league cups in the Barkston Ash league in Yorkshire. A significant achievement considering the fact Bardsey is a tiny village club up against all the largest clubs in the area with their much larger resources. Adrian also had a period away from Bardsey Tennis Club for three years where he ran Rawdon Tennis Club's mixed first-team, winning the Leeds League Division 1 title. He has managed teams for 22 of the last 25 years and has not yet suffered relegation. Adrian also enters mixed and men's doubles tournaments with a number of different tennis partners. He has appeared in 17 regional doubles finals and has finished on the winning side on all 17 occasions. His longest tie-break winning streak is 23 tie-breaks in a row.
