But in the midst of each woman's servitude to God was an inner turmoil and emptiness that created an overwhelming spiritual void. The stories span England, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, the United States, South America, Germany, Switzerland, and Canada, while each revealing a religious system that could not fulfill the longing for God's peace and assurance of salvation.

The stories are of women, some of whom spent decades within the structure of the Catholic Church, who eventually took hold of the promises of God's Word such as, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

The message these former nuns carry is as relevant today as it was when they lived it. Their search is every man's search.
