One of Gary's passions is to explore the mind and what shapes it. In the series 'Ways of the World' Gary explores different ways of the world that have helped to shape his mind, and he suggests, the minds of many in the world today - including religious, philosophical and secular ways. Books in this series currently include: 'Exploring the Way of Jesus', 'Exploring the Way of the Buddha', 'Exploring the Way of Lao Tzu', 'Exploring the Way of Epicurus', 'Exploring the Way of Epictetus' and this book 'The Way of the Stoic Epictetus - a Short Introduction'. Other ways that have influenced Gary include science, psychology, engineering, philosophy, and more broadly, Western Culture. Gary's other passions include: Cheryl (who he has had the great joy of being married to for more than forty years); their children and grandchildren; exploring a good life and wisdom (what they are and how to achieve them); reading (especially about philosophy, religions, science, psychology, technology, health and fitness...); running, health and fitness - and coffee with Cheryl. Gary has tertiary qualifications in engineering, science (cognitive psychology) and religious studies.
