The whole construct of the present book is built on the principle that, if translators are aware of the specific linguistic features displayed by the EU legal texts in English, on the one hand, and in Romanian, on the other, they are better prepared to face the various challenges that might occur during the process of transferring such texts from one language into the other. Additionally, familiarization with these challenges does not only help the (future) translators decide on the most appropriate target variant in each context, but it also increases their self-confidence when dealing with this category of documents.
