Michael Grosso studied classics and received his Ph.D in philosophy from Columbia University. He has taught philosophy and the humanities at City University of New York, Kennedy University, and New Jersey City University, and is now an independent scholar, author, and painter. With a focus on creativity, social criticism and consciousness research, he has written and co-written books on mythology, life after death, and the parapsychology of religion. Books include The Millennium Myth; Soulmaking: Uncommon Paths to Self-Understanding; Frontiers of the Soul; Experiencing the Next World Now; The Man Who Could Fly: St. Joseph of Copertino and the Mystery of Levitation; and, most recent, The Final Choice: Death or Transcendence? (2017) Co-written books include Irreducible Mind (ed. E. Kelly) and Beyond Physicalism (eds. Kelly, Crabtree, & Marshall). All these books are part of a current trend among various writers to formulate a new worldview that harmonizes the ideals of science and spirituality.
