Numeroase trupe, exponente ale metalului extrem (black, death, trash) și nu numai, s-au raportat și se reportează la materialele discografice ale trupei CELTIC FROST. În sprijinul aserțiunii de mai sus, piesa Circle of the tyrants, piesa fanion a albumului TO MEGA THERION, avea să fie preluată și de alte nume grele ale metalului extrem: Opeth, Obituary, Bewitched. Beyond the North Winds, Eternal summer, Jewel throne, Necromantical scream sunt și ele piese de forță ale albumului.
Unele încercări, este drept, destul de timide, de a include pasaje ambientale, samplere și voci feminine, anticipează surprizele și latura avangardistă de mai târziu.
