Caroline Steele, intrepid amateur sleuth, starts graduate school at the University of New Mexico Department of Theatre and Dance. Caro finds herself in a notbed of academic intrigue and clashing artistic egos. A disdinguished professor is murdered. Once again she is thrown into contact with Inspector James Hutchinson.
