Emory Diaz and Elliot Cortes were childhood best friends who grew up across the street from each other. They became inseparable very quickly, until they were suddenly separated at the age of 14 when Elliot and his family move away to Phoenix, Arizona. Emory is saddened with the news, but is comforted by the fact that Elliot promises to keep in touch.

Fast forward 5 years, and the two are forced to live in the same house together for the entire summer, after not having seen or spoken to each other in all those years. While Elliot thinks this summer will be a way for the two to rekindle their friendship, he'll get a rude awakening when he realizes that Emory is not the same girl he remembers. In fact, she can't even stand the idea of being in the same room as him now.
