Georgia, give his readers a look inside the protective cocoon the small community provided its eccentric, eclectic, and entertaining locals.

The artists, politicians, scallywags, preachers, barroom brawlers, and city sophisticates all found a niche at Tybee Island and appreciated each

other's differences. J. R. pulled off the feat of writing about them and keeping their friendship. He became one of the 'notables' as he filled his weekly newspaper column with reports of who had done what on Tybee.

Thank goodness, like Sam at Rick's, he can now "play it again" in his book of Tybee tales.
